The FFF Board of Governors held a meeting on October 26, 2011 to discuss finalization of the FFF Bylaws, the Social Welfare Loan Fund, and the organization’s search for an Executive Director.

UPDATE: August 30, 2011

The FFF bylaws have been approved by the Board of Governors for posting on this website for comment by FFF beneficiaries, in accordance with the Court’s Implementation Order No. 1.

Pursuant to that order, all FFF Beneficiaries – that is, claimants in the TV Writers Settlement II who did NOT opt out of participation in the FFF – are entitled to comment on these bylaws before they become final. All comments received within 30 days of this posting (on or before Friday, September 30, 2011) will be considered by the Board, Counsel, and Trustees of the FFF before the bylaws are finalized. Changes may be made to respond to comments or recommendations received from Beneficiaries.

UPDATE: June 24, 2011

The first Board of the FFF has been selected from among nominations received by the QSF II Trustees. The following members of the settlement class of TV Writers are now members of the Board: Patricia D. Benke, John D. F. Black, Skye Dent, Art Eisenson, Ron Friedman, Allan Leicht, Ron Lux, Larry Mintz, and Brendan N. Ward.

Craig Ackerman has been selected and confirmed by the Board as the FFF’s General Counsel.

An initial organizational meeting of the Board was held on May 18, 2011. Minutes will be posted (as required by the Settlement Agreement and Implementation Order No. 1) after they are approved by the Board.

In July, a draft of the proposed bylaws is expected to be posted for comment. In accordance with Implementation order No. 1 issued by the court, settlement class members will have 60 days to submit comments on the draft.

The Board plans to activate the emergency loan fund with the greatest possible expediency and hold an inaugural get-together in the fall for interested class members.

Please note that only settlement class members in the TV Writers Cases who did not waive participation in the FFF are eligible to participate in FFF events and services, seek benefits from the FFF or serve on its Board.
